The Notchview Reservation is in Windsor, MA on 3,200 acres in scenic forest and open meadows in the Hoosac Range. This western Massachusetts area has wildlife, red spruce and northern hardwood forest and it reaches an elevation as high as 2,297 feet at Judge's Hill.

There are 17 km of groomed and tracked trails for classic skiing and 12 km groomed for skating. Snowshoers may use the sides of the trails as well as a separate snowshoe trail. In addition, there is a trail and wooded area specifically for kids and a separate trail for skijourers (skiers with harnessed dogs). There are also two shelters along the trails.

The Budd Visitor Center is heated and has seating, a waxing area, rental equipment for XC skis and snowshoes, public restrooms, and Café service. Soups, sandwiches, baked goods and hot and cold beverages are available.

The trails are open daily from 8 AM – 5:00 PM. Group lessons are scheduled during certain weekdays, and on weekends at 11:00 AM or 1:00 PM. Individuals are asked to please call in advance to confirm lessons are scheduled for a specific day. Skating, advanced, or private lessons are available by appointment. Trustees Member Adults trail fees are $10.50 weekdays and $15 weekends. Trustees Member Child $5.25 weekdays and $7.50 weekends. Nonmember Adult $14 weekdays and $20 weekends and Nonmember Child $7 weekdays and $10 weekend.

Members of the Trustees are eligible to purchase a season ski pass that allows members to ski everyday for free. If you’d like to obtain a Trustees membership or season pass, please call 413-684-0148 or email acaluori@thetrustees.org

Ski rental equipment packages are $20 for adults and $15 for kids aged 6-17. Snowshoe rentals are $12 for adults and $7 for kids aged 6-17. Group lessons are $40 ($30 member rate) at 11 AM or 1 PM on weekends and private lessons are also available. Please ask about Learn to Ski Package and Learn to Ski Program.

During the season a variety of programs are offered, including moonlight ski, wine & cheese tastings, a women’s breakfast ski program, and the Bread N’ Jam Classic Race. For more information about public programs, visit www.thetrustees.org/notchview

Directions: From Northampton take Route 9 west to the town of Windsor. Notchview is located on the north side of Route 9 approximately 4 miles after entering the town of Windsor. From Pittsfield, MA take Route 9, east to the town of Windsor. Notchview is located on the north side of Route 9 approximately 1 miles past the intersection of Route 9 and Route 8A.
