Roger Lohr

Co-founder and editor-in-chief of, Roger loves classic skiing on XC ski trails, bushwhacking in the backcountry, and telemarking or snowboarding in powder. He is a writer and promoter, who lives in Lebanon, NH and is involved with subjects including snow sports, energy, and environment. He currently produces and is the Nordic ski editor for the SnoNews Cross Country News & Information column, and the Cross Country Ski & Snowshoe Editor for, and the Outdoor Recreation Editor for Green Energy Times. Recently, he was added to the judges panel of the 10Best USAToday Cross Country Ski Resorts Poll. He also promotes XC skiing via his Twitter feed at @XCSkiTravel and Facebook Page at @XCSkiResorts.

As a member of the North American Snowsports Journalist Association, Lohr frequently contributes content to the website and newsletter to promote XC skiing.

In the past, Lohr has collected and presented the industry statistics for the Cross Country Ski Areas Association, consulted ski area clients, and has written for, Cross Country Skier magazine, Green Energy Times, Ski Area Management, SkiTrax, Snowsports Industries America, and a number of regional sports magazines. Lohr created the "Best XC Ski Area" Poll and the XC Skiing Eco-Active Leadership Award program.

Karen Cummings

Karen has been writing about skiing for decades. She lives life, balanced between Boston and Maine, with a smile. Karen began skiing at the tender age of 25 and immediately discovered après-ski—her specialty. These days her nightlife forays are “research.” Karen is an expert shopper and may have purchased something at every resort she has visited.
