Methow Trails is North America's largest cross country ski areas with over 220 km (136 miles) of perfectly groomed skate and classic ski trails. Kids 17 and under ski free everyday in the Methow Valley. Many of the trails also welcome fat bikers, snowshoers and dogs. The Methow Valley is located in north-central Washington just below the Canadian border and anchored by the towns of Winthrop, Mazama and Twisp.
Ski lessons and rentals are readily available from several different retailers in the Methow Valley. Trail fees are $28 per day for adults 18 and over with discounts available for multi-day excursions. Kids 17 and under ski free every day in the Methow as do adults 75 years young and above. There is a 10-day punch card pass for $240, a 3-day ski ticket for $72, and other priced tickets for fat biking, snowshoeing, and dogs. Tickets can be acquired on line or at multiple locations in the towns of Winthrop, Mazama or Twisp.
Methow Trails are groomed daily and conditions can be found on the Methow Trails grooming Report or by downloading the free Methow Trails grooming app available for iPad, iPhone and Android. Skiers can also view current conditions via the Methow Trails photo of the day and by following Methow Trails on Facebook and Instagram.
Scenic splendor on the Methow Trails
The Methow Trails network is comprised of four connected areas: Winthrop, Sun Mountain, the Rendezvous and Mazama. Each area has unique skiing terrain that range from flat lands, glacial valleys, rolling pastures, wooded forests and mountain tops. Many lodges and huts are located right on the ski trails and offer a unique opportunity to do lodge-to-lodge skiing and bakery-to-bakery skiing! Lodging, dining and shopping are readily available in each of the towns of Winthrop, Mazama and Twisp. In addition to Nordic skiing, the Methow Valley is home to an award-winning outdoor ice rink, an alpine ski area, endless backcountry skiing, fat biking, sledding, snowmobiling and more. Besides building and maintaining the trail system, the Methow Trails sponsors ski races, clinics, and fun events for the whole family. There is a new ice rink, free family trails, sledding and snowshoeing. Methow Trails is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing and promoting environmentally sound non-motorized recreation year-round on and near the trails of the Methow Valley. In the summer, the Methow Valley is a mountain bikers' and hikers' paradise.
