Sun Mountain Lodge is the best and biggest full service hotel in the Methow region (800/572-0493, 509/996-2211, www.sunmountainlodge.com) at 3,000 feet with beautiful scenic views and trails that are interconnected with the Methow Valley 200 km trail system. There is no altitude acclimation necessary in this xc skiing mecca valley that is 40 miles long, laced with ski trails. At the lodge there is also an ice skating rink and a sledding hill.

The main lodge is situated in the North Cascade Mountains on 3,000 acres providing privacy, tranquility and serenity. Enjoy the 360 degree views of the mountains and Methow Valley. There is rental equipment for xc ski and snowshoeing. Lessons are available at the lodge through Methow Valley Ski School.

Sun Mountain Lodge has 98 guest rooms and 17 lakeside cabins. The wine cellar has 5,000 bottles and 450 different labels and there is an award winning gourmet dining room. Heated outdoor pools and spa services such as facials, massages, and reflexology. Nearby is heli skiing, alpine skiing at Loup Loup Ski Bowl, and snowmobiling.
