in Chittenden, Vermont has 80 km of trails with 40 km groomed for classic
and skate skiing, 40 km of backcountry trails, and 1.5 km of trails
covered with snowmaking. State-of-the-art grooming, snowmaking equipment,
and an elevation to 2,174 feet just about guarantee great conditions
on every visit. Located on 350 acres, the Mountain Top Inn & Resort
is tucked away in high country and only 11 miles from Killington. The
trails are well manicured and provide sweeping views of the pristine
mountain lake and the expansive Green Mountain National Forest.
The Nordic Center offers lessons and both xc ski and snowshoe equipment rentals. In winter, the Mountain Top Inn & Resort also offers sledding, ice skating, dog sledding, and horse-drawn sleigh rides. When combined with children's lessons, pulks to rent and the kid-friendly menu in the Tavern, the Mountain Top Inn & Resort is a great choice as a family destination. In summer, the Resort is transformed into a summer getaway with an extensive Equestrian Center, private beach, fly fishing, scenic boat rides, water activities and much more.
The resort's lodge and facilities have been restored extensively. Sip
hot coco by a roaring fire or enjoy apres ski cocktails in the Highlands
Tavern. The main lodge has 29 guest rooms and fine and casual dining,
massage services and morning and afternoon refreshments served in the
lobby...all complemented by breathtaking views.
For the guest that likes to share his/her vacation with a canine companion, there are cabins that are pet friendly and some designated pet trails to ski. Mountain Top Inn & Resort has wonderful seasonal packages. The Nordic Ski & Snowshoe Deal is a great value at $99 per person/per night/double occupancy and there is a 2-night minimum (3 for holiday periods). It includes lodging, trail pass, breakfast, taxes, and resort fees.
