Cross-Country Skiing and Snowshoeing

The Bolton Valley Nordic Center (877-926-5866, 802-434-3444 x1076, www.boltonvalley.com) features an alpine ski area and a resort village and there are more than 100 km of xc ski and backcountry trails that skiers of all ability levels can enjoy. The Nordic Center has 35 km of trails that are groomed for classic and skate xc skiing and additionally serves as a gateway to some of New England's best backcountry terrain. There are guided tours for xc skiing and snowshoeing, clinics, and demo days scheduled. Guided backcountry xc ski and snowshoe tours are available and there are clinics and demo days scheduled. The
Bolton Valley Inn has packages with 1-2 bedroom suites and 1-4 bedroom
condos within a village complex that includes restaurants, a tavern,
grocery/deli, child care services, and a sports center. The sports center
has a heated indoor pool, sauna, hot tub, indoor tennis, workout area,
and big screen TV.
Night skiing on the alpine ski area slopes is Wed- Sat with 12 trails that are lit and open from 4 - 9 PM. The alpine hill has 5,200 acres with 64 trails and 6 lifts.
Bolton
Valley Nordic Center trail fees are $14 for a full day and $8 for a
half day with lower fees for juniors (7-12), college/teen (13-17), and
seniors (over 69). Kids aged 6 and under are free. There is also a 10
Punch Card for $70. Private lessons are 1.5 hours for $50, while a 1
hour semi-private is $35 and a 1 hours group lesson with 3 or more skiers
is $25 each. XC ski rental equipment is $15 and
heavier equipment for backcountry skiing is $20. Snowshoes rentals are
$15.
