just north of the US/Canadian border, 21 miles from Sault Ste. Marie
lies 10,000 protected acres with canyons, ice falls, and wild countryside.
There is a lodge and six chalets, all a quarter mile from the nearest
road.
This backcountry retreat has 130 km of
trails groomed for classic and skate sking. The property is in the shadow
of King Mountain and at 861 foot elevation, it does not have any altitude
issues. Stokely Creek Lodge borders Ministry land and there are panoramic
views of the Algoma Highlands and Havilland Bay on the eastern shore
of Lake Superior. The lake effect virtually guarantees snow at the lodge.
There
are xc ski and snowshoe rentals available at Stokely Creek Lodge and
there is instruction available. Go for a picnic at Norm's Cabin, a destination
on the trail network. There are no road crossings on the trails and
no snowmobiles in the vicinity.

or video games in the lodge. It is a smoke-free facility. Peace and
quiet with friends or family.
