The Franconia Inn and the Franconia Village XC Ski Center (800/473-5299, www.franconiainn.com) is located on Route 116 in Franconia, NH. There are 65 km of trails with 55 km tracked and groomed for classic and skate skiing. Trails are on national forest land with some following Coppermine Brook to Bridal Veil Falls. The trails wind through the woods, over brooks and across meadows and are single track, which provides an intimate feeling with the forest. Ski on the Franconia Notch trail by Echo Lake and to the Basin and Flume Gorge. Enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Lafayette and the Franconia and Kinsman Ranges of the White Mountains.

Lessons, xc ski and snowshoe equipment rentals are available at the Franconia Village XC Ski Center. Lighted ice skating rink with rental ice skates, horse-drawn sleigh rides, snow tubing and snowshoe trails. Rental xc equipment is $15 for adults and $8 for kids. Ice skates and snowshoes are available for $8. The trail fee is $10 per day and there is a full service ski shop.

The Franconia Inn is on 107 acres in the Easton Valley and has 29 guest rooms, 3 luxury suites 2 dining rooms and verandas, game room, big screen movie room and the Ratheskeller Lounge. This inn is full service B & B country inn with a colonial clapboard style and exquisite cuisine.

Nearby alpine skiing includes Cannon Mountain, Bretton Woods and Loon. The New England Ski Museum and the Maple Sugar Museum are also in the vicinity as well as nearby outlet shopping in North Conway. Take Route 93 north from southern areas and at Exit 38 take a left, cross Route 116 and go 2.5 miles to the inn.
