Dexter's Inn Trails by Norsk Outdoors, (800-232-5571, 603-763-5571, www.dextersnh.com) offers intimate classic trails at a country resort inn located on a 20-acre estate in the Lake Sunapee region of central New Hampshire. The facility has 20 km of trails that are groomed and open to the public on weekends, holidays, and school vacation periods. Overnight guests of the inn are welcome to use the trails on any day after payment of the daily trail fee. The panoramic views include nearby Lake Sunapee, Mount Sunapee, and the surrounding countryside.

Dexter's trails wind their way through forests and fields with minimal road crossings, The 1,350 foot elevation and attention to grooming present great conditions. Trails are rated 35% easy, 45% intermediate, and 20% advanced. All trails are open to snowshoers, who are asked to stay to the far right.

Trails are open from 9-5 with daily use fees at a flat rate of $10 per person. Kids aged 6 or younger can ski or snowshoe free when accompanied by a paying adult. Rental gear is available with a xc ski package at $15 and snowshoes at $10. Lessons by a certified instructor are available at $15 for a group lesson, $40 for a private lesson, or $55 for a semi-private lesson (2 people) with $15 for each additional person.

Dexters Inn has accommodations, food, and hospitable spaces for the public to relax. The inn also features a cozy warming room with a fire place, a formal living room with fireplace, a game room, home entertainment room, and a sledding hill. Brunch/lunch is available on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 AM - 2 PM. Snacks and beverages are available at all times.

Accommodations include 10 varying sized guest bedrooms in the Main Inn, and 7 guest bedrooms in The Annex, each with a private bath. Rates range from $110-175 per night double occupancy, plus 8% tax. Larger groups of up to 10 people can use the Holly House Cottage at $300-400 per night, plus 8% tax. A full buffet breakfast is included with an overnight stay. Pets are welcome in some rooms by special advance arrangement. Dexter's Inn is a non-smoking facility and does not currently serve alcohol, but guests are welcome to bring their own alcoholic beverages.

Alpine skiing is available nearby at Mount Sunapee (the largest ski area in the region), Ragged Mountain, and Whaleback. Shopping and other entertainment is available in nearby New London or about 30 minutes away in Hanover (home to Dartmouth College)..

Directions: From Interstate 93, go north toward Concord, NH, then take Route 89 north to Exit 12. Turn left on Route 11 West and go 5.2 miles. Turn left onto Route 103 B and go 4/10 of a mile. Turn right on Stagecoach Road and go 1.25 miles to Dexter's Inn. From Interstate 91 take Route 89 South to Exit 12A. Turn right off the ramp and follow directions above.
