Stillwater

in Whitefish, MT has trails that roll over ridge tops and meander
along lakeshores. In the Whitefish Range of the Rockies amidst the
Stillwater State Forest and Murray Lake, the Stillwater Mountain
Lodge offers 20 km of trails that are groomed for classic and skate
xc skiing.
Nearby Whitefish (8 miles away), Big Mountain Ski Resort (15 miles
away), and Glacier National Park (35 miles away) provide attractions
that will entertain and astound. Trail passes are $12 for an adult
and $10 for youth (aged 13-17), while kids aged 12 or under ski
for free when accompanied by an adult. Additionally, skiers or snowshoers
must purchase a $7 season permit to recreate on the state lands.
Back
at the Stillwater Mountain Lodge, the accommodations include two
suites or a studio with a community kitchen in-between. These choices
can be combined to accommodate a total of 14 people. Prices in the
winter start at $115 per night or $575 for the studio; the East
Suite or West Suite at $155 per night and $775 weekly, respectively.
The entire lodge is $425 per night and $2,125 for the week. There
is a $10 per night fee for each additional person over 12 years
olds, a 3 night minimum, and if you stay 5 nights, you will get
2 nights for free.
The summer at Stillwater Mountain Lodge features mountain biking,
fly fishing, and hiking and the rates are the same as the winter.
There are lower rates in the sping and fall starting at $85 per
night per person for the studio and $115 per night per person for
either suite.
Directions
to the Stillwater Lodge: From the Amtrak train depot go south on
Central Ave. for 3 blocks and take a right at the stoplight onto
2nd Street/Highway 93. Go 7 miles to Beaver Lake fishing access
sign and take a right on Beaver Lake Road. Stay right at the Y and
continue for 1.5 miles.
From the Glacier Park International Airport in Kalispell, MT take
a left onto Highway 2 and go 4 miles to the stoplight. At Highway
40 take a left to Highway 93 and turn right into town. Take a left
at 3rd stoplight called 2nd Street and same as above. CCSAA
