There are spectacular views of Lake Superior's North Shore from 1,000 foot elevation. The inn has 25 km of groomed trails for
classic and skate skiing that are rated 30% easy, 40% intermediate, and 30% advanced. The ski trails offer 12 loops and there are also dedicated snowshoe trails. The 1.8 km of lighted

This peaceful and secluded bed and breakfast in the great northwoods is the first trail system on the Gunflint Trail from Grand Marais with rolling hills and scenic terrain ranging from gentle trails adjacent to the Devil Track River to a climb to the summit of Pincushion Mountain for an outstanding vista of the lake. There is a warming building open daily at the trailhead. The Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCA) entry is within 24 miles away.
The
main lodge is where the breakfast is offered with a choice of continental or full meal service. Pincushion has a choice of rooms including the Pine Room at $145 per night for two people with a king sized bed, sitting area, great views, and a private bath with a shower. The rooms for $125 per night include the Maple, Aspen, and Birch and these rooms have queen sized beds and private baths. The Dorm Room is $150 per night for 4 people has a double futon, 2 single beds, private bath, and TV/DVD. Taxes are additional to the rates. Breakfast is included and Pincushion has a sauna and main living room with a fireplace. The Minnesota Trail System Ski Pass
is required ($15 per year for skiers older than age 15) and access to the trails at Pincushion B & B is included with overnight accommodations.
Directions: Take Highway 61 east past the stoplight in Grand Marais and a half mile to the first left intersection on County Road 12 north. Go 2.8 miles and look for 968 Gunflint Trail and a right driveway. Duluth Airport is 117 miles and 2.5 hours away, Mnpls/St. Paul is 272 miles and a 5 hour drive. Thunder Bay, Ontario Airport is 90 miles away.
