The resort offers a fine lakeside dining room, pub, game room and a swimming pool/whirlpool/sauna complex. Nearby Lutsen Mountains offer the most vertical drop in Midwest alpine skiing. Complimentary xc ski and snowshoe equipment and guided tours are available to guests.
The terrain is spectacular and the trails are well-groomed for both classic and skate skiing. Ski along ridges overlooking Lake Superior, through beaver ponds, and slip into a tunnel of cedars where wolf and deer tracks are plentiful. You can find anything from an easy 3 km loop to a rugged day-long 25 km loop that leaves you limp! You can drop a car off and be shuttled to a trailhead so you can do a long one-way ski or try many of the loops that are available. There are more trails than you can ski in a week. Buy an annual Minnesota Ski Pass for $10 and ski as much as you like.
