in Ishpeming, MI offers full service ski facilities and amenities with
hundreds of miles of trails to enjoy in the area. Expect a choice of
restaurants, shopping, entertainment, and a variety of accommodations
all within the resort.
Cross country skiing and snowshoeing trails
are available within the resort and for a $2 trail fee you can ski all
day on two separate trails. Ski passes can be found at nearby Ace Hardware,
the B.P. Country Mart, or Jasper Ridge Brewery. The two trails are regularly
groomed and include the easier 5 km Country Village Trails and the intermediate
7 km Ishpeming Hills trails. The Country Village Trails are lit at 5-8
PM on Wednesday and Saturday nights and there are public restrooms available.

Country Ski Trails
The
nearby Al Quaal Recreation area also has extensive xc ski trails. Other
trails in the area include the Noquemanon Trails, Negaunee Ski Trail,
Kawbaugan Ski Trail in Ishpeming, and the Anderson Lake Trail in Escanaba
River State Forest. In Marquette try the Blueberry Ridge Trail, Presque
Isle Park, or the Marquette County Fit Strip. There is also a 1,500
foot iced toboggan slide at the Al Quaal Rec area.
XC ski rental equipment and free trail
maps are available from West End Rentals within the Ace Hardware. On
site restaurants include the Country Kitchen and the Jasper Ridge Brewery.
Accommodations can be found at the Best Western Country Inn or the Jasper
Ridge Inn hotels, which are both near the trails. Vacation homes are
also available on site for larger groups and an R.V. Park offers campsites
during the summer months..
For
entertainment there is the Country Village Cinema V, Country Lanes Entertainment
Center, shopping, and much more. The Cinema offers 5 screens with new
releases and Country Lanes features bowling, billiards, darts, video
games, and a complete lounge. More than 20 shops can be found within
the resort including Bare E-scentials, the Bookstore, Unique Treasures,
and others.The Michigan Iron Industry Museum, Cliff Shaft Mining Museum,
Da Yoopers Tourist Trap and don't miss the National Ski Hall of Fame
in Ishpeming.
