community combined with an alpine ski resort. There are 60 km of groomed
xc skiing. The average temperatures are -5 C (or 23 F).
The Village features victorian architecture reminiscent of a 19th century British Columbian mining town with slopeside accommodations, restaurants, boutiques, and specialty shops. Ski-in, ski-out access from every doorstep at lodging facilities. Forbes Travel Magazine named Silver Star a number one Nordic ski destination.
A new Mountain View Cabin offers a destination on the trail network (6.5 km) for a picnic or relaxing break. Take the Summit Chairlift for an easy ski down Paradise Trail back to the Village. The Alder Point Loop has views above the Putnam Creek and in the distance see glacier capped mountains. Free guided mountain tours to orient newcomers. of the National High Altitude Training Center, Silver Star's
cross-country trails attract skiers from around the world. Many of them
are Olympic athletes in training. There are two fully certified biathalon
ranges (one with 22 lanes). The Silver Star network of trails is adjacent
to and connected to Sovereign Lakes There is an exchangeable dual pass
with Big White Ski Resort.
