Stowe Mountain Resort Touring Center (800-253-4SKI, offers 42 km of groomed Nordic ski trails. Novices will be introduced to a new world of outdoor winter beauty by an expert staff with lessons, rentals, and tours in a variety of activities including in-track classic skiing, backcountry ski touring, telemark and snowshoeing. The trails are in the Mount Mansfield State Forest.

Some of the popular annual Stowe events include The Stowe Derby (Feb 24, 2014), which is a 10-mile race from the top of Mt. Mansfield to Stowe Village that has been conducted since 1945. Public Trails in Stowe

The Catamount Ski Trail, which runs the length of Vermont offers miles of backcountry terrain and other trails can be found at Wiessner Woods and a popular trail in town is the Stowe Recreation Path.
