The Nordic Village sits in the Arizona foothills of the San Francisco Peaks. There are more than 40 km of trails through Aspen and Ponderosa forests all machine groomed for classic or skate skiing and 15 km of marked snowshoe trails. The center is at 8,000 foot elevation, with a lodge, cabin, and yurt accommodations. Take a trip from the center to the Grand Canyon, only a-hour away to visit one of the true wonders of the world.
Trail passes are $12 for adults on weekdays and $18 on weekends. The half day (1-4 PM) trail prices are $10 weekday and $12 weekend. There are discounted prices for students aged 8-17 and seniors 65+. Snowshoe trail passes are $7 weekdays and $10 on weekends and the half day rates are $5 and $7. Rental equipment is available for xc skiing and snowshoeing. Weekday rental rates are $10 for ski package and $7 for snowshoes. On the weekend it is $16 to rent skis and $10 for snowshoes.
Ski lessons are available on Friday-Sunday with different rates for group $22 or private lessons $55. Beginner and intermediate level ski lessons for classic or skate skiing are scheduled at different days and times so check the schedule. Fat bikes or snow bikes are now available at Nordic Village to use on snowshoe trails mostly which will be groomed with a snowmobile for better riding conditions. Fat bike rentals are available to rent for $35 on the weekends and $20 on the weekdays. The trail pass must also be paid for the snow bike users is $10 on the weekend and $7 on the weekdays. In the summer there are mountain bike rentals and guided tours on 50 km of trails. The Nordic Village is also used for camping, wedding and other venue services.
Accommodations are reasonably priced and include rental cabins, large and small yurts, the Ponderosa Room in the lodge, and the Eco-hideaway. The Eco-hideaway is off the grid powered with solar energy and it is a 3-hour hike from the lodge. Go on line http://www.offgridgetaways.com/
