The Gunstock Mountain Resort in Gilford, NH offers a cross country ski tour or snowshoe hike along the brook or a lift-served adventure on higher elevation trails or a backcountry experience. The 50 km of groomed trails have 15 km tracked for classic skiing and 38 km groomed for skate skiing.

Trail passes are $17 and there’s a $14 trail pass for children aged 6-12 and seniors older than age 64. Equipment rentals for XC ski equipment or snowshoes are $17 and after 2:00 PM they are $13. Skate ski rental equipment is $25. Lesson programs are available for all skill levels and disciplines, and when you’re done playing in the woods, visit Gunstock’s historic base lodge for some après fun.

This resort’s full-service Nordic and snowshoe center in the heart of the Lakes Region, has snowmaking to cover 2.5 - 5 km of the trails when Mother Nature doesn’t. Experience the snowy wilderness of New England in a pristine outdoor environment as you stride, skate, or snowshoe Gunstock’s extensive set-track and single-track trail system. With the purchase and display of a Nordic Trail Pass, guess are allowed to skin/climb Nordic trails Rowe’s Revenge, Try Me, Ridge, and Roller Coaster or if you have an alpine ski pass, catch a lift to ski on the “Ridge Side” at the top of Mount Rowe on either alpine ski trails or in backcountry terrain during normal operating hours.

The Proficiency Package offers a great value to progressively build your ski skills with multiple lessons taken with the same instructor. A 3-day classic lesson Proficiency Package program (includes trail pass and rental equipment) is $99 and for skating it is $149.

Fat tire bikes are the newest trend for on-snow exercise and exploration. Rent a fat bike by the hour or day when the trail conditions allow ($40 includes the bike and trail pass).

The Gunstock Mountain Resort is the host venue for a number of innovative and fun events this winter such as the Valentine’s Paintball Biathlon. Full Moon Snowshoe Tours are scheduled for Dec 14, Jan 12, Feb 11 and Mar 12.

Directions: Take exit 20 in NH, turning onto US Route 3 North / NH Route 11 East towards Laconia. Follow Routes 3/11 approximately 6 miles. Just past the Belknap Mall, bear right following Routes 3/11 (Laconia-Gilford By-Pass). Take the second exit, Route 11A in Gilford. Turn right at end of exit ramp. Follow Route 11A east approximately 6 miles to Gunstock Mountain Resort. Entrance is on the right.   CCSAA area.
